The competition was exciting and intense! We experienced various wind conditions during the race, and the crew of the 'Qingdao' was excellent. They completed a transformation from ordinary to excellent. At the end of the race, we encountered wind tunnel problems, hovering for 30 hours before the final stop of Freemantle. Wang Ziqi, the crew member of the "Qingdao" environmental ambassador, said in an interview after arriving at Hong Kong after the race: "It feels great to have completed the race on such a warm summer night and arrived in Perth. The waves we saw in this race were 6-7 meters high, crashing up from the side of the boat and reaching a top speed of 20 knots, which was very exciting. The race was full of challenges, living on the boat at a 45 degree angle and feeling the cold low temperature at night... but we overcame difficulties and achieved it."

Another crew member of the "Qingdao" ambassador, Sailing coach Zhou Dongning from Qingdao also shared his feelings about this competition: "We have encountered many tense and exciting situations during our more than 20 day journey. The wind in the Southern Ocean is strong, and the route is relatively south during the entire journey. In the second half, we encountered two wind tunnels... but overall, we are still very happy. After crossing the Southern Ocean, we finally arrived in Australia!" Zhou Dongning also expressed his expectations for the future: "I hope this competition will be more helpful for my sailing work, and I also hope to make more contributions to Qingdao and even the domestic sailing industry. At the same time, I also look forward to having my own first mate and captain as soon as possible!"

另一名“青岛号”大使船员,来自青岛的帆船教练周东宁同样分享了本场比赛的感受:“我们这二十多天的航程出现了很多紧张刺激的情况,南大洋风力较大,整个航行过程中航线比较靠南,后半程又遭遇了两个风洞……但总体来说还是很开心的,穿越南大洋后终于抵达澳洲了!”周东宁也表达了对未来的期许:“希望本段比赛对自己的帆船工作有更多的帮助,也希望为青岛乃至国内的帆船事业做出更多的贡献,同时也期待着我们能够早日拥有自己的大副和船长!”

Eleven Clipper race ships, including the Qingdao, will dock and rest in Freemantle, Australia for a few days. The next race, Schedule 5 (Phase 4), is scheduled to start on December 19, 2023, with a destination of Newcastle, Australia's second stop.
