The Qingdao won the runner up in the just concluded North Pacific Challenge with a total voyage of 5500 nautical miles. As the tenth race of this season's Clipper Round the World Sailing Race, the race departs from Qingdao, the "sailing capital", and heads towards Seattle, USA. The total voyage exceeds 5000 nautical miles, taking nearly a month. Only a few sailors in the North Pacific have dared to try, and this long sea voyage, which lasted over 26 days, has brought multiple tests to the physical, mental, and willpower of the crew. During the competition, they experienced cold temperatures, massive low pressure, and the accompanying waves and strong winds, and spent an extremely challenging racing life on the Clipper 70 foot ocean going sailboat.

In this competition, two Qingdao ambassadors and crew members from Qingdao represented the sailing capital of China, Qingdao. During an interview with the sixth stage ambassador, crew member Bu Xuan said, "We spent almost a month at sea on this schedule and experienced many situations. For me personally, I have learned and grown a lot, improved my sailing skills, and through cooperation with Captain Philip, First Officer Henry, and the crew, I have learned and experienced a lot. Especially in some extreme weather and sea conditions, we can still confidently and proficiently complete various operations. On the other hand, I have a better understanding of myself, especially in some challenging and difficult conditions, which have tested my physical and psychological limits, teaching me how to tolerate and calmly accept my shortcomings and ups and downs."

Wang Ziqi, a crew member of the "Qingdao" Global Ambassador, said, "We completed this game in second place. I am very happy about this result, as it is a race starting from my hometown Qingdao, so it is of great significance to me personally. Captain Philip made the adventurous decision to take the southern route, because any mistake could lead us to a complete loss. We also know that other teams did not consider our decision to be wise at the beginning. However, we were determined, encouraged by each other, united and worked hard with some luck. Our skills and tactics worked, and our efforts paid off. In the end, we maintained our leading position and ended up with a good result." The score has completed the competition
