The cooperation between Qingdao, the "Sailing Capital", and the Clipper Round the World Sailing Race has a long history. Wang Ziqi, a crew member of the "Qingdao" Global Ambassador, was born and raised in the sailing capital of Qingdao. Since childhood, when he saw the Clipper fleet docking in Qingdao, he had planted his dream of long-distance sailing. He said in an interview, "I am really excited. The race from Zhuhai to Qingdao is the most important for me. The 'Qingdao' is returning to its home port. The international crew on board are very excited to return to its home port, Qingdao, which is my hometown! The crew members are all full of enthusiasm, and all the deck operations are done very well. I think this race will face multiple sail changing operations, and facing strong winds and waves will be a common occurrence, but the crew members are fearless and full of energy."

She will complete this competition with Wang Ziqi and, upon arrival in Qingdao, jointly challenge the competition across the North Pacific. When participating in this competition, Bu Xuan said, "I have been following the Clipper Round the World Sailing Race for five or six years, but at that time I didn't know how to swim and had a fear of the sea. But later on, I became a scuba diver and tried to participate in the selection of the Clipper Sailing Race Ambassador Crew. Now I have come here."

This season's Clipper Round the World Sailing Race "Qingdao" has crew members from various industries around the world, including aerospace engineers from Germany, students from the UK, and diving coaches from China. The Clipper fleet is expected to arrive in Qingdao, China from March 21st to 22nd. During the docking period, the organizing committees of both sides will jointly organize a series of exciting activities, including boat racing tours, international crew travel experiences, Clipper crew entering the campus, community, and so on. After resting and stopping, the fleet will continue to cross the North Pacific and sail towards Seattle, USA on March 27th, with a race distance of 5600 nautical miles across the North Pacific, which is the most remote and dangerous sea area in the world.
