After its development, this hurricane will move in a southwest direction and is expected to make landfall along the Queensland coastline on January 24th. The departure time of the competition fleet from Elly Beach has been updated to January 26th. According to the weather conditions on the departure day, if allowed, the competition fleet will conduct parade performances, personnel drowning rescue drills, and some pre race restorative sailing operation training after departure. After these actions are completed, they will sail away from Pioneer Bay and the waters of the Holy Spirit Islands. Then, the competition fleet will activate its maneuvers to travel 70 nautical miles overnight to McKay City in Queensland, where the competition fleet will dock to complete the relevant customs and exit procedures for leaving Australia.

After all customs and exit procedures are completed, the competition fleet will activate its maneuvers to sail towards the Le Mans style race waters through the Great Barrier Reef. The sailing distance from customs and exit procedures to the opening sea area is 125 nautical miles, which is expected to take 18 to 20 hours. The Le Mans start time is scheduled for 10:00 am local time on January 28th (0:00 Coordinated Universal Time), which happens to be 5 days later than the original planned Le Mans start time.
